The first book trailer for Please, Let Me Save You debuted this week. The 20-second promo features shots of Los Angeles, dimming in and out to the sounds of a clicking clock. The text reads, “Today, Brandon and eight million others will die.” Following a sudden explosion, the screen fills with flames, and a new text states, “It’s only the second-most interesting thing happening to him today.”
Please, Let Me Save You, written by author Patrick Joseph Healy, is a thriller collecting three interconnected stories about people trying to save those they love during the nuclear apocalypse. Set on October 31st, 2020, it tells the story of an alternate American history where COVID-19 was far from the greatest danger the nation faced. Forced to come together to survive insurmountable odds, the book’s characters face unimaginable nightmares and show relentless courage.

Healy took his blog sooner after the debut, listing everything he loved about the new creative. Praising the “amazing visuals for a book trailer,” he illustrates the multiple ways in which the promo captures elements of the book, like its vast perspective and the tension the book fosters with each passing second.

Patrick Joseph Healy is the writer of the acclaimed short story Space Princess, published by Platform Comics in 2019. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University and spent fifteen in content marketing and strategy. As a neurodivergent writer, Patrick tries to shed light on his own neurodiversity in the hopes it will destigmatize the condition for others. He lives with his wife, daughter, and their three cats in San Diego, California.
